Does anybody know why drug addicts want calcium tablets ?

We run a free clinic, and all of a sudden, known junkies keep asking for calcium tablets, how are they using them?

well usually the use of drugs surpresses appetite so they could possibly want the calcium so their bones don't deteriorate because of lack of food and nutrients. but there probably is another reason...
