  1. that's funny ! I have to STOP them giving me so many sauce packets !

  2. because there mean

  3. Because everything costs money and they do not want to have things wasted.  Just rationing out the items

  4. The reason is because the BBQ sauce isn't for everything like the ketchup could be for anything. They are purely for the nuggets. Considering those BBQ sauces, and Sweet N Sour sauces are plastic, those might even cost more money than other condiments.

  5. They are like that with everything as if they don't give it to you they save money. Around here they can't understand why you need napkins and plastic ware to eat your food. You have to ask for everything or you don't get it. For breakfast you even have to ask for butter, syrup and jelly. If you go through the drive-thru you have to go in to get napkins; my husband leaves the car running and goes in and holds up the line and that really ticks them off. McDonalds' Corporate Office said that is a franchise and that is how they want to run it and I say it looks bad on McDonalds as it is their name on the building. .

  6. those things cost the resturant money, since they need to make a profit, and corporate reqires them to give salt and catsup, they give exactly what corporate says, any extra, they charge for.

  7. Every McDonald's is differant.  Ketchup and BBQ is generally to differant things.  Ketchup is usually availible in lobby (pump and container) and behind counter(packets) and is avalible by request for free. I have never heard of being charged for ketchup.  BBQ and all the nugget and select sauces are given based on what you get 1 sauce for a 4 or 6 peice nugget.  2 sauces for a 10 piece.  Above that 2 sauces per 10 piece, so a 50 piece gets 10.  Selects 1 sauce for 3, 2 for 5.  Some McDonald's charge foe extra sauces some do not.  I've never heard of a McDonald's that totally refuses to give extra sauces.

The stinginess is  not to be mean or cruel its because these items cost money to us but none to you so for ever sauce packet ot ketchup that leaves the store that is not paid for by a customer we are lossing money.  If McDonald's was to just give you sauces and ketchup that may never be used other items would have to have higher prices to make up for the loss.  Free is always nice but its never really free its just free to you someone had to pay for it.  Some McDonald's are stricter with the rules.  Some employees are also stricter it really just depends.  Godd deal feel like you do who cares.  Personally those sauces you want me to give you for those fries are my next raise unless I charge you and nothing against you.  I love ranch for my fries myself but I need my next raise so that will be 15 cents per sauce.

  8. It's because people are hogs.. they take 10x more than they need (usually for home) or they take to many and just toss the rest.

If I would actually need 5, I'd ask for 5. It's not a big deal... Sure it was nice to just grab what I needed, but I'm sure that was very much over abused.

Many mcd's have bbq pumps beside the ketchup pumps which is actually nice because then you can get what you want/need.

  9. At the McDonald's near me they have all of that kind of stuff behind the counter and if you order nuggets if you get a four piece you get one sauce even if you ask they say no. If you get a ten piece you get 2

when they didn't do that people always wasted and they would loose money on sauce

  10. McDonalds has tons of competition now-a-days for sales. Burker Kings, KFC, Wendy's, Taco Bell, and other fast food restuarants can take the place of McDonalds. In that case, McDonalds needs any sale they can get since there is so much competition for sales.

  11. Do you mean on the food or at the counter when you get more for yourself.  Probably due to waste.  Ask for more if you want the cooks to put it on.  You should see what Long John Silver does - itsy bitsy little paper cups for about 1 tablespoon of stuff.

  12. With the cost of everything going up, they have to conserve. Most people throw the extras away or take them home.

In Europe, you have to pay for the extra ketchup and other condiments at McDonald's.

  13. if you're talking about the pre-packaged individual ones, it's like that at many restaurants.  I hate to say it, but low-income people (anyone from families to college students to homeless people) take them by the handful instead of buying it for their home.  I've even seen homeless people get hot water (which used to be free), a bunch of ketchup, some pepper, and b asically make themselves fruit.  Then, they'd get cold water, take tons of lemons and sugar and make themselves lemonade.  This is why a LOT of restaurants don't give out too much of it.  As 'little' as it seems, they purchase them by the box and it is a business expense.  It's sad, really.

  14. I don't eat fast food that much. In fact very rarely do I eat it, but when I do I have never seen a problem with it. Maybe it is the ones you are going to, or possibly Drive Thru? Because inside usually they have the area where you can take what you want.

  15. cost control or this particular Mcdonalds has or had a problem with adolescents "popping" the ketchup and making a mess. But usually cost control.

  16. i think it is because a lot of people try to take extras for home use.  Or they take extras and end up throwing it away.  Even though it just seems like ketchup and bbq sauce it still costs them money to make, so I guess they don't want to be wasteful and loose money over sauce.

  17. To save money.

Thats why I eat at Jack in The Box.

  18. lol too funny! i say the samething its like u always have to ask for it cuz they dont just put it in your bag and when u ask for it they give u like 2... idk why but the workers act like they pay for it or something.. maybe they cheap with it becuz its free.
