  1. United States Public Health

Its the agency which checks the sanitary conditions of the ships, among others, once they enter the US.

Its random, doesnt happen all the time.

ever heard of 3 bucket system?

  2. United States Public Health  - USPH is a phrase to strike fear into the hearts of cruise ships crews. They can board any vessel at any time and conduct an inspection, and they are STRICT!

They will give a vessel a score out of 100 and pass the details onto the CDC - center for disease control who publish the data for anyone to see.

So if you are going on a cruise, you could always check out the link below to see what that ship scored.

Having said that, the guys doing the inspection have said if they were to apply their standards to a typical family home, it would rarely score above 50 to 60. So if the ship scores 90 or so, check to see what it lost marks on before freaking out, often ships will loose points on technicalities rather than any uncleanliness

  3. I think it means U S. Public Health
