Does anybody liked windows vista? Isn't windows XP far better than vista?

Question

why did microsoft introduced vista when there is not much improvement in it compared to XP? It doesn't run properly in laptops whose RAM is 3GB. Isn't it unworthy having in your laptop?

for the home user who knows NOTHING  about computers they like all the bells and whistles that vista has , NOW for someone such as my self and other who manage servers , networks consiting of a few hundred clients , and see so many pc's with vista on it come in for this or that repair i can tell you will 100% assurance VISTA SUCKS  , it is one of if not the worst OS ever created from microsoft , even with their upcoming sp1 release Vista can touch XP sp3

This seems to be the most popular question around here.

My personal feeling from experience is that I will rather stick with XP. I'm in a professional field and Vista is causing too many incompatibility issues to make it worth the while.

Some things in Vista is nice and supposed to be an improvement on XP, and some actually does show an improvement, but there are far too many issues that still need to be addressed.

Personally I feel that you can go with Vista if you're prepared to suffer the inconveniences that will sure show up, and if it's not critical in the way you use your PC.

Also make sure that your hardware can support Vista, and don't go for the minimum requirements, because that will only frustrate you.

I would rather wait for the next release of Windows (due in 2009/2010) and see if Microsoft managed to sort out the "issues" they created in the Vista release.

Windows Vista is very good and it s the top of the line that u have a good CPU to support it.

U go to mininova.org and search for WINDOWS VISTA. But u should have a Bittorrent cilent like uTorrent.

Just go to www.download.com and download Bitcomet 1.02 and then go to www.mininova.org and download it.

I use vista for my pc

Its the best

With the dx 10 you get a good graphics

Many options are there in vista which are not there in xp

nowadays you get softwares which are vista powered

and now ms gonna lauch vistas sp1

Xp is still better than Vista though its 1st service pack is released which has still some bugs in it..

Xp is reliable and faster and easy to use..

maybe you were not able to comply with the system requirements.see, vista has a way higher set of requirements in contrast with xp. maybe xp seems better as of the moment because there are still rough edges in vista that is yet to be improved.

Yes, I've tried Vista and its awful. Even simple things like getting a mouse working, moving files, copying files and emptying trash seemed to cause bit problems for Vista. Even on my 8Gb, Q6600, Nvidia 8800 system Vista crawled like a crippled snail.

Vista is more modern than XP, and they've done some different graphics. Other than that, no, its not much of an improvement. I guess thats why 35% of systems shipped with Vista revert back to XP.
