Does anybody miss it when the Burlington Northern and the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroads were two seperate railroad companies? I sure do, especially the red/silver painting on the ATSF engines and the old ATSF logo.

  1. I was on a brand new BNSF engine this week.  Don't miss the old ones or the old railroad at all.

  2. TAKE ME OFF YOUR LIST   THANK YOU

  3. As with all fallen flags, both are missed although I must say that from a personal standpoint I miss the Santa Fe much more.  It was a legendary railroad and is perhaps the best recognized of all time from its famous logos and liveries to its vaunted passenger trains (heck, even those who do not know much of anything about railroading can instantly recognize the Santa Fe).  Because of this, I think BNSF would do well to bring back the Santa Fe's famous Warbonnet livery.

  4. yep, but not much

I know several BNSF employees and they all say the new improved BNSF is not as good to work for as the old BN, dont know about the ATSF.

The red fronted Santa Flush engines were rather nice looking but they are all old and faded now anyway.

  5. Definitely, I miss the days when I would watch the trains go by from my uncle's trailer and they've had around 40-45 trains on that line per day, this was on the BN line going from Pasco to Vancouver, I still wish that the BN and the Santa Fe were two seperate railroad companies, I really liked the logos of the BN and the paint schemes of the Santa Fe.

At least with the Santa Fe engines they still have the logo available although they do have the small BNSF patchings on the sides.
