Series 2 starts filming in August. There will be 8 episodes as in the last series. It's preliminarly schedule is for a January or early February 2009 start, in a mid-week 9:00pm spot on BBC1. (please note that this is only a preliminarly schedule and is subject to change)

There is apparently also an option for a third series.

Edit: Just noticed that I misread the question. Sorry about that.

Not sure if there are any plans to rerun series 1 any time soon, but it might be worth keeping an eye on the BBC3 and 4 listings for it. Especially in the couple of months prior to series 2
