I was just wondering if any insurance companies offer insurance that will cover your living expenses (regular bills, mortgage payments, etc) for say 3-4 months in the case of a job loss? Is there any sort of insurance out there like that?

  1. unemployment benifits would fit that insurance.

  2. There is a new product that is a free standing job loss product you can buy.. it covers up to $2000 extra a month in addition to your unemployment coverage at work. This coverage pays direct to you and you can enroll on the internet. It is only avalible in the USA.

  3. Yes. Available for redundancy and sickness but not if you quit. Speak to an Insurance broker who'll get you free quotes.

  4. NO

  5. Nope, that's  called "unemployement", and is a government run and backed insurance program.

It's one of those type of insurances where the insurance companies can't make money selling it - only the people that wanted to use it, would buy it - kinda like "boob job insurance" and "infertility insurance".  So the government makes EVERYONE buy it.
