Does anybody respect Obama for manning up?

Obama saying hey my mother was around the same age when she had me also...shows how mature he is. Even though some people dislike this guy they never met...you have to give him props for defending his opponent...

  1. what else could he have said? everyone already KNOWS his mother was 17 when she got knocked up with him. It' not news and I certainly don't think he "manned up" by announcing it.

I think it is the first thing he has done in a long time that shows some backbone.  Now, will he be willing to condemn his financial backers at the DailyKos and MoveOn.org for spreading this filth as well?  It's possible, but I won't hold my breath.  That kind of guts may very well be above Obama's pay grade.

  3. Barack Obama has wit, wisdom, and class. If ever a man exemplified grace under pressure, it is he.

  4. He is a very slick talking, charismatic, politician. One of the best I've seen. He plays the media and the crowds very well.

    Unfortunately leaders like Hitler and Stalin and Castro were also very slick talking charismatic politicians.

    I'm not saying Obama is the same as them, just that he is capable of playing the masses like they were.


  5. Slightly. However you know he had to go on record against the smears, but he also knew the libs would rn with it and hopefully benefit him. He may really feel that way, if he does he deserves credit for that.

  6. the only problem with this is that a lot of the email smears relating to this are being traced back to his campeign.  so until he commits to firing individuals contributing to this stuff it does not make a difference.  

    I even saw a clip where a reporter called him on it saying this press release was traced back to your campeign, and he replied with how offended he was by the statement.  Well he can be offended all he wants, it still does not change the fact that the reporter was right.

  8. I think that Obama was trying to make him and his camp. look like less of an a*****e. You are confusing that with "mannig up" which Obama is quite incapable of.

  11. What else would you expect him to say? Anything approving it would be Political Suicide. But I do think he is genuine on this issue, not a lot of others though.  

  12. You are wrong he is laying the ground work to keep the reports and reporters away from his hag of a wife. If he seems to take the high ground it might help keep her out of the spotlight. She is a witch and it doesn't take her long to show it.

  13. I respect Obama for telling the press that candidates children should be "off limits".

    I could care less how old someones mother was when they were born.  I want to know their PERSONAL stand on the issues and how it will affect my daily life.  What are we going to do about the issues that affect our national security, our borders, our retirement and our economy.  I couldn't give half a hoot if someone in their family gets married, has babies, or plays tiddlywinks in their off time.

    Lets stick to the real issues!

  14. I would have respected him if he had mentioned that his mother was unwed, young and pregnant. Not just "young and pregnant". I guess it would be too much to get him to admit that Stanley Anne Dunham was never legally wed, as his father was married to another woman in Kenya.

    It's what he leaves out that proves "Change" is not possible with this man.^

  15. I just wish his supporters had 10 percent of the class that he has shown for this issue.

  16. He actually said his mother was 18 when she had him and was nice enough to not point out that she had already graduated high school and was a fresman in college. So they were not the same as you suggest since miss Palin is still in high school and living with her parents. His mother was also Married when he was born and his father though he ended up leaving was also older he was a graduate student.
