I think the fact that Black Industries' new P&P RPG, Dark Heresy, sold out of its Collector's Edition in 6 minutes is a sign that P&P RPGs are still alive.  Even the first print-run of the regular edition sold out in under a week and suggestions that there might not be a second print-run have almost led to demosntrations!
