  1. I had the same problem with my elbow, to cure it I had to retire. The only cure seems to be complete rest for the arm. Do not lift anything or strain the elbow. I know it will be no help for you if you are too young to retire, but maybe you should think of a career change.

  2. All three of those ailments are going to require rest. There's nothing else you can do except prevent re-occurence.  For elbow pains, invest some money in tennis lessons to fix what is causing the problem.  As a tennis coach myself, I can tell you that the problem is from overusing your arm in the swing.  Your arm should be relaxing during the swing instead of tensing.  If you simply rest then come back with the same technical difficulties, you'll hurt yourself again.  As far as the plantar, make sure you have shoes that fit right and have adequate padding.

  3. I suffer badly with tennis elbow...the pain can be excruciating, and I have given up with supports, injections etc. i have had acupuncture, which was great....while I was having the treatment, but the effects soon wore off. I have now been taking Chondroitin/Glucosamine for about two months and i have really started to notice a difference.

Easily available from your local health food store ( i use Holland and Barrett) They take a little while to kick in...and its not saying that they will work for you, but its worth a try.

  4. I had tennis elbow when I worked as a dental nurse, from typing and repetitive moment etc.

I had physiotherapy with accupuncture and this helped but it was long term physio really which helped most, as it allowed the tissues to strengthen and the muscles to develop.

Do ask your GP to refer you onwards if they current treatments haven't helped you.

Hope you get some relief soon.

  5. if u have tennis elbow u should do light strengthening workouts on ur forearm.  sometimes crystals build up in that particular area which irritates a nerve. worst come to worst, surgery. my friend had surgery and it's been a year since he had pain there.

  6. Hi, I initially suffered from tennis elbow and had tried all the same remedies that you have mentioned.  My consultant then advised me to have my arm in plaster up-to the shoulder for 9 weeks to completely rest the joint.  Whilst the plaster was being removed I told them that I'd been having pain on the other side of the joint (golfers elbow), they told me that it was just stiff.  $ weeks later I went back for a check up and it was then confirmed that the inflammation had spread around to the other side.  Again given all the painkillers and to go back 2 weeks later.

The consultant examined me and told me that the only other treatment that could be offered was surgery. However it wasn't 100% that it would work. I took the chance and had the tennis elbow done 1st then 6 weeks later had the golfers elbow done.  It was very painful but 16 years on and have had 2 children to bring up I've had no problems with either side.  Sorry I couldn't give you any other solutions but for me I'd tried them all and that was my only option left.

Hope it doesn't come to that.

    Best wishes.
