Mayweather is an excellent boxer. His defense is one of the best in the business. And his offense is good too.... probably underrated (look at his fight with Gatti). It's just a shame that with all that talent and skill, he chooses not to or wait years for certain fighters to become "money fighters". With all that time going by in waiting, he could be out destroying or embarassing the competition, which could cement his legacy or argument for greatness.

He is a good boxer and a great athlete, but to keeps avoiding the other great boxers in his division like Margarito and Cotto. What made Oscar the la Hoya a great boxer was not only his ability on the ring, but the guys he fought, Mosley, Trinidad, Chavez to mention a few...

Yes I think he is. Undefeated and all, he is slick and elusive and has power to knock out opponents. Mayweather is scientific and should be at number one for some time.

Mayweather WAS great, but not so much these days.  Just look at his last 2 fights; de la hoya didn't box for a year and a half and hatton was shorter, had a shorter reach of about 7 inches, and moved up in weight. He fights hand picked opponents so he doesn't jeopardize his record. On the other hand, cotto has been fighting risky opponents and has been calling him out.

just look at his early fights, mayweather was aggressive, lightning quick, and elusive. Now, he just counters and runs all day. He just isn't in his prime anymore.

He considers himself the greatest of all time. Just look at the legends of boxing, they never ducked anyone and cleaned out their division.

If only he could box as good as he jump ropes!

hes the best he is undefeated 6 time world champion 5 different divisions 20 title fights he cant get any better than that he beat oscar de la hoya diego corraless jose castillo arutro gatti and other great fighters
