Does anyone you know need a really good hearing aid?

"Need" is a relative term.  According to most health insurance companies, hearing aids are not a medical necessity, like blood pressure medication is, so they are not covered for most Americans.  

But hearing is our first connection to the outside world... we are hearing before we are born, and we hear things that ar beyond our field of vision.  Hearing is also essential to our quality of life, in easing communication with our loved ones, our colleagues, and also our medical care providers.

Most people with hearing loss would benefit from using hearing aids; however, there occasionally are some cases where hearing aids are not beneficial.  Every patient's situation is unique, so the only person that can give you recommendations is a licensed Audiologist, who has examined your ears and determined the nature and degree of your hearing loss, and discussed your personal communication needs with you.
