  1. Yep

He has beaten some of the best players in the world in best of 3 set matches so he clearly has the game! He now has improved his weak link (fitness) and i believe in 2 years time he will be close

  2. I want to believe...I reallly do.

I think he is our best hopeful for a long time.  I think he's got more guns to his game than either Henman or Greg whatshisname (sorry!! I do know it - just can't spell it!)...

There's no way he could have won this year, but he could have got a bit further had he not been stumped by Nadal.

I think it was a two horse race this year and what a final...

But who knows... I was impressed with the way he beefed up a bit for this years wimbledon - he seems to know what he has to do and is willing to put in all the hard work.  Good luck to him.

  3. No

  4. Andy Murray Never Smiles Or Laughs Plus It Looks As Though Someone Stabbed Him With A Screwdriver In The Back If He Wins. At This Rate His Fan Membership Will Drop.

He Has About A 63% Chance Of Winning By My Calculations  .        Hope I Helped :0)

  5. theres always a chance that someone can do something ; )

  6. Who would have said that England made the Rugby Union World Cup Final? Are you trying to say that the winner should be selected before playing. The competition is an "Open" and that means that the so called underdogs  can be given a chance. Everyone who plays has  a chance, remember, you have to be in it to win it!

  7. I would say that there is a 50/50 chance myself .

  8. Sure!

He just need to serve like Roger Federer, return like agassi and has the muscle and stamina of Nadal.

Coupled with John McEnroe's volley game.

It should not be an issue.

  9. He will need to show a massive improvement for he will always be competing against some very skilful and powerful players.

  10. Possibly.  Time is on his side.

  11. I don't.  It'll be like Henman, one or two players around at the same time that are just too good for him.

Nadal is roughly the same age as him, so if Nadal stays fit I can't see how Murray can win Wimbledon, not on the evidence of the last two weeks anyway.

  12. No as i think he has a poor attitude! He has some good strokes but he is still too far behind people like nadal, federer and djokovic although the top guys have there off days most of the time they pull through.

  13. It's quite possible.  He's certainly a better player than Federer was at his age.  It just depends on whether he has the will power to keep getting better or if he's going to catch the British disease of never quite making it.

  14. He'll never win any Grand Slam tournament,he's overrated, big time.

  15. I'm not sure any Brit will ever win Wimbledon because we put them under too much pressure.

  16. i think he will but the competition in the next few years will be very interesting at the top. This guy already has one advantage compared to the others and that is the crowd (only if he wishes to use them) he's young 21 and still looking to improve his game. The guy has alot of variation in his game, and really great hands and he moves well, he has the ability but what we saw against nadal was he is'nt quite physically/mentally as strong or experienced enuf compared to some of the guys at top. You got to remember players like djokovic/fed/nadal started at 16 and andy at 18 started after he won his first us junior slam.

also there are continuous comparisons with him and djokovic and how djokovic is way ahead at the moment. I think people forget he had a really bad wrist injury for like 4 months where he cld not pick up the racket etc coz b4 that murray was moving forward very nicely he nearly knocked out nadal and was starting to play really good tennis. Coz of the injury he missed the french and wimby and the way he was playing he had a chance. So coz of that players like nadal/djokovic were able to move forward. And andy got left behind, so it definately affected his development.

But if andy now get some good results on the hard courts and makes it to the master cup. we will c him pick things up land catch up to the like of djokovic. The guy definately has the ability, what he needs to do is work on getting more pop on his groudstrokes and physically getting more strenght all-around. he now knows what it takes to be the best by losing to nadal.  He will learn.

And people have got to be abit realistic about him and not just dismiss him coz he sed some stupid things when he was like 18. The guy has talent and people like roddick wld love to have the same variation as him.

  17. I think it's unlikely because Murray will have to beat Federer, Nadal or both of them to win at Wimbledon. However, if he keeps on improving, he may be able to nick it off them one of these years.

To Oldknowall: Murray is not better than Federer was at this age (21) as Federer became Wimbledon champion at 21.

  18. Only if the other players don't turn up

  19. He's only 21. He's beaten Federer before. He has to improve to beat Nadal, which he can, so I wouldn't write him off.

  20. Only possible if Nadal for some reason isn't playing or miraculously gets taken out by someone else.  I can't see Murray beating Nadal, as nice as it would be.

  21. no and im scottish

  22. No, his mental strength is to weak. If he does not improve on this he wont win the big time tournaments. Besides he has to contend with federer, nadal djokovic which are way way better than him.

  23. Yeah. If every other player on the tour dies.

  24. He has the potential.

He is going to have to go some to beat Rafa Nadal.

  25. He has the game to do it.  He knows every shot in the book and has a game suited for the grass courts of Wimbledon, but it really all depends on his draw.

If he has to face Nadal late after being put through tough match after tough match then he won't stand a chance like this year.  But if he faces Nadal or Federer early on, he has a much better shot at beating them and knocking out the top two players in the men's game.

If you take Federer and Nadal away, Andy Murray becomes one of the next top grass court players.  Probably along with Richard Gasquet, Hewitt, Lopez, Roddick, and just a select other really possible winners, Murray has  great shot to win and even dominate at Wimbledon.
