  1. They won't even make the playoffs.

  2. No your right, the Jets won't get the wildcard this year. I think they will be vastly improved though. If they were in the NFC especially the NFC West, they could make the play-offs, but not in the AFC and not in the AFC East...

  3. Jags Jets Is A Joke.

    52-7 Jags.

Jets Suck. And So Does Farve.Notice he Had help the entire time.

  4. They MAY make a wild card spot, but who do they really have? They are going up against the Pats in their division.

I would say that Favre should take his linemen out for dinner every night, or risk becoming part of the grass by week 3.

I predict he has a season ending injury by week 5.

Madden will be so disappointed... his glory boy going out in a hail of shame from his own actions. It seemed that it was only yesterday when Madden was riding Brett's jock as the best ever... uh Elway, Montana, Bradshaw, Namath, Brady, and even Manning put Brett to shame as far as on field play.

Plus- Brett gave away a NFL sack record to one of his buddies by taking a dive... not Hall of Fame caliber sportsmanship to me...

So seriously- the Jets will not even make the playoffs- Titans, Jacksonville, Bills, Browns and Denver all have better chances of getting the Wild Card spot.

Keep dreaming NY... what happened to the Yankees??? They suck!

  5. I do.

Im not a Jets fan but I think with Brett they are a much better team and could win their division if New England falters even the slightest.  At worst I think they could easily get a wildcard spot.

You guys keep harping on Favre like he cant play the game yet year after year he proves he can.    You need to find another angle or learn the game because each time you make these posts saying how Favre cant play anymore just proves how little you actually know.

My prediction is that they win a wildcard spot and lose their first game but heh, thats better than they have done.

And those of you who keep saying 1 player cant change a team.  You're wrong, very wrong.  Its happened year after year after year in the NFL and sports in general.

  6. Jets fans that think they're going to the Super Bowl are on weed! they have to worry about the Bills and Patriots first! and then if they were lucky enough to make the playoffs they'd have to play against the AFC's best teams in the playoffs!

no chance they make the Super Bowl!

1 player cannot change a team!

  7. Nope.. just because Brett Favre is in town, doesnt mean they will go from Top 5 pick in the Draft to Playoffs bound or even (some say) Super Bowl Bound..lol

sure, its possible.. but one player doesnt make a team.. and sure it helps to have a hall of fame QB under Center..

but history has shown to us.. that is who wants it more..

Confidence always kills most talented teams..

  8. There's one big roadblock waiting to sh*t in Jets fans cereal.. and its the New England Patriots.  Does anyone on the planet think that a few receivers used to catching passes from Chad Pennington making the change to a rocket from Brett Favre is enough to unseat a team that has pretty much all their weapons except Donte Stallworth... not likely.  Yeah, its impressive that a legend is on the team.  Big deal.  He had tons of chemistry with the receivers in Green Bay.  Now the only guy who's caught a ball from Favre is Bubba Franks... and he can't catch.

As stated in the question, the Jets can't possibly think that the only thing preventing them from getting past the Patriots and guaranteeing a playoff spot was a quarterback.  Chad Pennington may have a sally girly arm, but within 30 yards or so, he's deadly accurate.  And the passing system the Jets had used a LOT of misdirection and movement to get separation underneath.  They didn't use a vertical passing system.  Brett Favre thrives on vertical passing.  He did the West Coast under Holmgren and won a Super Bowl, yes... but how many times did he launch it when he felt the pressure?  A lot.  So yes he can definitely play... but he's not the answer to Eric Mangini's prayers.

The Jets are about to be a huge disappointment to New York.  Can they beat any of the 4 contenders for the AFC Title (New England, Indy, San Diego and Cleveland)?  Time will tell, but I say no.

And just to make myself clear, I'm a lifelong Packer fan, and trust me, Brett Favre can still play at a Pro Bowl level.  But he's just not the missing piece of the Jets.  How hard will we all laugh when Chad Pennington and the Dolphins do better than the Jets?  I know I will.

  9. I think that they are going to do a little better this season then they did last season with Pennington but I don't see them going to the superbowl.

  10. No.

It's media sensationalized hype about Brett Favre being a Jet that has created this monster.
