  1. yeah i think it is a big marketing strategy. the reason i think this is that we are just in one big iceage that is comming to an end. its just the earth going through a cycle. as much as we try to stop it we aren't. all we're doing is slowing the process down abit.

  2. I'd say its more nuanced than that. ''Reduce (consumption) Reuse and Recycle is definitely the mantra to live by, but face it, its an industrialized world and we do use products that are mass manufactured all the time. For them, ideas like the ''Next Industrial Revolution'' and ''Natural Capitalism'' (both books u can google) that are about design of products so they mimic nature is a starting point. Nature is energy efficient, and is closed-loop, as the waste products of one process become food for another process or product. Whether companies use it is a smokescreen is another matter, as an idea its worth investigating and supporting!

  3. I don't realy care if the companies care about the environment or not.

What I do care about is that they have made the change and the environment will be better for it. In fact the more companies that see they can make a buck out of going green the greener we will all be.

  4. it started off w good intentions but that is deff. what it became.

  5. I don't doubt that there are people out there who are doing this for profit, but all things considered, going green is just a social response to the threat of global warming.

And yes, I know, global warming is such a hot-button issue, but even if you don't believe in it....how lazy can you be that you won't at least try to conserve water, electricity, gas....it might not be messing with the climate but it sure ain't helping either!
