Will Smith gave this great quote once and I totally agree with it. And its 100% true.

Tell me what you think:

"People buy things with money they didnt earn, to have things that they dont want, but only to impress the people they dont like."

I actually agree with it, because that is the way our society is today.

I expected this to be a really lame quote and before I even clicked on it I knew my answer was going to be no. But I agree with it to tell you the truth. In this world we are so worried about who is the best. We buy stupid items (clothing, TVs, video games, cars) that actually mean nothing. What happened to people working for what they need not what they want?

Totally true...our society is superficial and extremely competitive. It's not about whether or not they like someone but instead it's all about status!

absolutely, in our society everything is marketable.  with the right sales pitch you could you can sell somebody your dirty underwear.  alot of people buy things they have no use for, or for no practical reasoning. bravo for standing up to capitalism.

Yes, I agree with most of it. But sometimes people do buy things with money they earn. Its just the majority of the world that doesn't earn a cent of what they get. And alot of people feel that its important to impress people whether they like them or not.

I agree that some people do these things, but definitely not me. I've worked very hard for everything I have and I don't buy things to impress people at all. I only buy things that I want or need.

well it is half true. because i do buy things i like. but at the same time, it is to impress people, people i like and dont like. But i do earn my money....so yea.

I think it's true.

A lot of people are rewarded for things they didn't work for, and those who did work for it don't always get paid.

Everyone wants to be happy in life, but instead of thinking about what will truly make us happy, we get distracted by the glamor of material things. We think that's what we want but in the end they become boring and so we buy something else.

When you don't like someone, you want to feel superior to them, so you try to look better than them by having nicer clothing, better vehicle, bigger house, etc.

Kinda sad when you think about it.

There must be more to life.
