  1. Mmm, my favorite frybread recipe:

    1/2 tbsp. salt

    3/4 cup milk

    1 cup flour

    2 tsp. baking powder

Mix ingredients, and add more flour as necessary. Roll out dough until it's thin, and cut into strips. Fry in cooking oil until it's brown on both sides. We like ours with honey.

If only I had my great-grandmother's biscuit recipe handy. :( Those biscuits....were a taste of heaven, believe me.

2 lbs. pork, boiled until well-done

          2 lbs. boiled beef

3 cans chopped green chiles, or 1 doz. roasted green chiles, peeled & chopped fine

          1/2 c sugar

          1/2 c raisins

          2 eggs

          1/2 c flour

          2/3 c shortening

          2 sweet onions, chopped fine

stiff, fold in beaten yolks, and spoon into a shallow dish.  With a little of the flour in one

thoroughly covered, lift gently with spoon and slip into heated fat (sizzling) in kettle.
