  1. No. I've seen recessions before ... that's what we are going through.

  2. I hope not, but I'm really starting to think so.

  3. Yes I do. The belief that a free market can regulate its self is a very naive view. A free market is driven by pure unbridled greed. The greedy consume every thing they can until there is nothing left. Man by nature is greedy and self indulgent. look back at history. Look how man hunted animal’s necessary for their survival without regard to sustaining the population. And they hunted them to extinction.

Our Government under Bush, Clinton, and Bush has allowed the wealthy to hoard all of the wealth until there is not enough left to sustain the rest of the citizens. It is the same as the third law of physics (entropy). When there is no difference in temperature there is no energy left to do any work. All or most of the currency is in the hands of a few greedy individuals. There is not enough left to sustain commerce. And thus commerce slows down: The greater the inequity the slower the economy.

The housing crisis is an example of this. Not only predatory lending; But also greedy realtors and speculators driving up cost of housing: While wages are being driven down for most Americans. The two of these together priced housing beyond the ability of many Americans to afford a home: Forcing many families into homelessness.

When ever there is a mention of taxing the wealthy. They cry that it is redistribution of wealth: But when the wealth flows from the middle and impoverished classes to wealthy. They do not seem to mind this direction of the redistribution of wealth. Well now they have the vast majority of the Nations wealth. And the economy is suffering because of it. So they turn to our Government to bail them out at the expense of what is left of the middle and the increasing impoverished classes.

Yes we are less than a year away from a great depression. Bush has single handedly bankrupted our Nation. But for 7 years the economy was great for the wealthy. Now that they have it all they are crying wanting the little that is left. This free market will not be satisfied until the vast majority of the citizens have staved to death and they have it all.

A totally unbridled free market society is cannibalisticA and will consume itself. The proof of this is staring us in the face today.
