It seems to me that in most all societies there are certain more principles that everyone agrees with. Can anyone think of some of those principles?

  1. I don't think there is right or wrong in societies. It's all depends on 'what the majority view as acceptable'. If everyone in that society accept it, it's correct (to them). Not accepted , it's wrong (to them only, not to another society).

Eg: a country where all the women has to cover their heads. If you don't do it, it's wrong (to them), but not wrong to me.

Eg: a country will chop your hands off if you steal. It's 'correct' to them, but it's wrong to me.

So, there is no right or wrong, only acceptable or not (by its own society).

  2. I imagine that there are social taboos in all societies. That a taboo is what defines a society.I haven't heard of one that doesn't have them. Who you can have s*x with must surely be one of them.

laws about killing and stealing reparations and status

  3. Yes basically most societies hold the ideals of the 10 commandments I believe,

    Don't kill

    don't lie,

    don't steal

honor your father and your mother

    don't commit adultery   etc.

  4. most of societys do their laws according to the religion they´re most fond of...

occidental society derives them from the bible, i guess...like "no steal" "no kill"...and so on... Marx sayd that christian religion is the best weapon for capitalism..i don´t know if i can explain my idea, i guess my english is not that good to write about this, but it´s a good question!

  5. The 10 commandments.

  6. stealing, drugs (prescription and illegal), murder

  7. It depends if you're a relativist or not, in a philosophical discussion we couldn't come across any universal wrongs, there are aberrations in many societies. It's worth noting that there are many countries in the world, not all of them follow the Judeo-Christian ten commandments. The world doesn't begin and end in the west.
