During my college graduation practice when they called some guy named John, someone hollered out JOHN SHAFT!

Yeah, I always enjoyed listening to the man, he was very talented.

I know Chef came much later but that was a stroke of genius on the animators part, he was perfect for the part!

I watch the slow mo theme from Shaft on youtube from time to time...he was ace...I heard that he recorded all the voices for Chef over the phone (dont know if its true, but its pretty cool)...

Yes, Isaac Hayes was great... His voice brings back many fond memories.

I've got pretty much everything he's ever done and it's a big loss to the world of music to lose another legend who was an inspiration to me and many thousands more.

May he be funking it up with other top groovers wherever he may be!
