Does anyone care if Man Utd's foreigners, beat Chelsea's, Arsenal's or Liverpool's foreigners to the Title?

Are you old enough to remember when teams used to actually scout around the country for the best talent. The only 'foreigners' in those days were the Scots, Welsh & Irish!

  1. Certainly not, they are a bunch bought in performers just like the circus of old, admit it is a spectacle and enjoy, but don't confuse it with regional tribalism.  I do not condemn the players money, if some one is silly enough to pay then in Millions then the best of luck to them.

It is now a way of making money, just like Ford or Woolworth's, they have a product they market and shareholders and takeover bids like any big business.

Local teams ? forget it !!

  2. Unfortunately Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea fans care if their 'foreigners' win the league or not.

I think scouting round the country for talent once again would be great for English football

  3. Fully agree. Look at Newcastle, a great English club, with, wonderful support. Full of 'mercenaries.' Coming over, taking the money, playing like cart horses, and, scarpering. The day is fast approaching when the good old days of developing English talent shall flourish, rather than, foreigners buying foreigners, for, 'obscene' amounts of papermoney. The supporters will help bring this about. Racism? 'Gollox!' Realism, known as; National Pride. Where has it all gone to?

  4. Arsenal have 1! englishman in their squad. They win nothing in four years, I wonder why?

For the greater good of football Manchester United must humiliate them.

  5. alana: i think you'll find we are one of the few teams who could field an all english 11 and still would be competing at the top level.

    ben foster

    neville,brown,ferdinand,hargreaves

    carrick scholes, tom cleverley

    wellbeck,rooney campbell.

8 english internationals and 2 fringe players and an up and coming midfielder.

  6. i think a team should only be able to hav 4 foreigners in a team and the rest english

  7. Rio

    Brown

    Rooney

    Scholes

    Carrick

    Fletcher

    O'Shea

    Giggs

    Neville

9 players, 5 of which are first teamers. Another three play 30+ games a season too. That's half the first team.

  8. Yeah, d**n those foreign devils. Improving the English Premier League, and making the teams stronger.

Fact is, the players England are creating aren't good enough. Thats why so few true talents come through every year. Compare the England u21s to Argentina's or Brazil's. Its like looking at Sunday League vs. World Class.

The reason that foreign players are brought in is because they are cheaper and more talented. Yes I know, what about those ones that flop, but there are as many English players who flop in the League as foreigners.

So I'll continue to watch GREAT footballers whether they're 'foreign' or not, and enjoy the game. Rather than act bigoted and talk about the 'good old days' when players with less talent than now where able to make up teams cos they were British!

Football is filled with more talent than ever before, yet people like you just complain about foreigners. You surely can't be a real fan of FOOTBALL

  9. well yes I do but we also have our players playing abroad and they gain experience of continental football, that's why we do so well in europe now.

  10. Why don`t the owners off the top clubs just see who has got the biggest cheque book at the start off the new season to decide who wins what.

  11. Well I think your question has just about summed up the Premiership in this country on two counts

1/ The large amount of foreigners we have playing in this league

2/The same four teams being banded round to lift the title

I guess the fans of these teams will be bothered but for someone like me who supports a team from the Championship I have really lost interest in who lifts the Premier Trophy, also a good point how many English players play for a 'top' team abroad (don't think L.A Galaxy fall into that category).

  12. True that. Tho at least ManU has some Brits

  13. lol i do and it was a real game then!!!!!!

now its the money that everyone wants (such as ronaldo sorry to say)!

(p.s i am from the wrestling section) tee hee

  14. Agreed. Its just a competition to see whose got the biggest bank balance now.
