No, ring pulls are made out of the same material as the can. So why not collect cans?

This went around as a hoax about 25 years ago, people collected ring pulls for a particular charity. It was a waste of time and the charity knew nothing about it.

we used to in the 70's and 80's when i was in the Brownies, but that was when they were fully detachable from the can and were always littering the street.

it was for some kidney foundation if i remember rightly.

A lot of people used to do this when I was a kid, back in the late 70s / early 80s but after that I never saw anyone do it.
