Does anyone descend from John Tatnell who left Tasmania, Australia to travel to Mauritius in 1848 ?

Yes I think my family does. John Tatnell left Australia in 1848, we assume with his aboriginal/murray islander wife. They left behind a son name Thomas who married an aboriginal Tasmanian woman in 1843. Thomas was married as Charles Tatnell but registerd at death as Thomas Richard Tatnell. I do not have any further info on John only that he may also have been known as George Tatnell. We assume that John(or George) was originally from the UK.

We have photos of Thomas's children and they have black or very dark skin.
