Question:

Does anyone do independent study/homeschool?

I just started today...i have class on thursday i think. And I have two classes a week. The only reason why I'm doing it is because the high school that I want to go to (the first day was today..for that high school) is really full so I'm on the waiting list. So i'm gonna do like a semester of the homeschooling/independent study (whatever its called...i go to school twice a week..like i said) or even a year..until i get called.

Does anyone do that type of schooling? And can tell me whats good and whats bad about it?

I'm just worried about being home all day. But i hated my old school...HATED it. So I don't want to go back. I really want to go to the school that I'm on the waiting list for.

Anyone have advice or tips? or can just tell me about it?

  1. Independent study is homeschooling or unschooling.

I did this on my own in many areas without a school system supervising.

Independent study is what you do for a Masters or PH D degree in most colleges.

It's about tackling some problem and doing the research on your own and becoming and expert and then detailing it with some paper or package that shows what you have learned.
