It's addicting especially because of something called "partial reinforcement"  (google it)... the same thing that keeps people playing lotteries or roulette, even when they *know* the odds favour the house.

Getting your answer chosen as "best" is a pleasure reward, and rewards that are *occasionaly* gained from a behaviour are even more powerful motivators for repeating that behaviour than guaranteed rewards.

Yes.  I spend about 2-4 hrs. a day on it lately. I blame it alot on boredom but it is fun to do.  I've always thought it'd be fun to be an advice columnist.  I've also studied psychology alot in college and considered making it my major.  I like to mainly answer questions about pets (I know alot about animals), beauty, family/friends and singles/dating, and entertainment.  My tv addiction is more worrisome though!  I watch atleast 8 hrs. a day!   I don't have a job (I don't need to really work, I get disability), I don't have many friends (mine are all married with kids or have careers and I'm just not "good" enough for them!), and I can't drive right now.  YES!  I'm addicted to Yahoo Answers.
