Does anyone else agree with McCain on his position against ethanol subsidies?

Corn is food that can help with world hunger. Right now, too much of it is slated for our fuel hunger. From what I have read about ethanol and its production, it seems inefficient, costly and produces pollution when it is manufactured.

I applaud McCain's stand on this issue.

I think most are thinking he is not taking the health issues as his reason in reality nor caring about people dying of hunger. He has not once before mentioned the men who are causing all these problems where people cannot buy food in some parts of the world due to the greedy speculators. Cannot just seperate the two issues of ethonal and the starving people. they are connected and the people making the money on the prices don't care if their profits are going to the person in his car or from the bellies of the poorest people on earth.

If he was to say we have to stop these speculators in mass murder and that is what they are these speculators, How many people will die so they can to make their profits.

First of all, fantastic question friend.

Yes, you are correct in every single point you made within your question. Ethanol is at best, a dismal alternative and additive. You left out that the chemical properties are almost identical to Vodka and it eats up pistons and valves. This is why in Brazil, where they use Ethanol, they do not rebuild engines ever! The engines are totally destroyed after using this for about 100,000 miles. Therefore, we have another issue with using ethanol and this is the added cost to manufacture more engines because this is so hard on parts and then the extra expense and resources involved in manufacturing more engine parts. Ethanol is a bad idea in a bad time are all of the wrong reasons. McCain knows what he is talking about on this issue for sure.
