when we didn't use to spend much time watching TV or on the computer, when we used less cars and more bikes, when we used to talk to pple in person instead of chatting, when 1 L.L. used to buy you so many things...

  1. Yes Kate! We all miss them! But what we did then for the most part was out of necessity. All of these things of which you speak either were not available or only to the very few people who could afford them, had them. Many of the things came into being because there was a need for them. I lived in a time when many of these, just did not exist and for some were only dreams, of what if? My step grand mother lived to be 102 years old. In her lifetime she crossed the country, 2 times in a covered wagon and lived in Coffeville Kansas when Jessie James robbed the bank there! Before she passed on she also crossed the country in a jet plane which was only a dream in the minds of a very few people. The same type of people who dream of a world in which some day our descendants will explore new worlds, like we travel around  the world today! People are alive today and I am one of them, because of advancements in medicine such as open heart surgery, thanks to these same dreamers. Just forty years ago it was someones dream. Polio has been almost been eradicated! When I was a child it was one of the most horrible dieases you could have and almost an automatic death sentence! Yes I miss those good ole days But I thank God that he gave us these dreamers, because this world would not be nearly as nice a place, in which we have the opportunity to live. Yes there are many things which I do not like but we all must do our best to change those, we do not like and make them better. But we must not do them at the expence of other people. You are limited only by your imagination as to what you can accomplish! Good Luck and may God Bless You!

  2. I'm serious here , yes I miss the old days, when i was a kid in the school , 1 Egyptian pound can buy u many things, now its not enough to buy a gum,

Also the old old days, The families were more connected, and the people were more communicated with each other, but thanks for the TV, it destroy everything ,

The Internet is another case, because I knew you all through the Internet , So thanks for the net,

Also , don't forget that if this technology was not here , Chris and rory will never leave you alone for a second ;) :D

  3. my parents always do.. i can't remember it though.. they always say how life was pleasant, simple and safe..

  4. Today people are not happy because:

    We spend too recklessly

    Laugh too little

    Drive too fast

    Get too angry too quickly

    Stay up too late

    Read too little

    Watch TV too much

    And are less considerate

We have multiplied our possessions, but have reduced our values

We talk too much, love too little and lie too often

We have learned how to make a living, but not a life

We have added years to life, but not life to years

We have taller buildings, but shorter tempers

    Wider roads, but narrower viewpoints

We spend more, but have less

We buy more, yet enjoy it less

We have been all the way to the moon and back But have trouble crossing the road to meet our neighbours.

We’ve conquered our outer space, But not our inner space

    We’ve split the atom

    But not our prejudice

We write more, learn less, ---------------------- plan more, but accomplish less

we have learned to rush, but not to wait,

we have higher incomes , but lower morals

We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies

    But have less personal communication

    We are long on quantity,

    But less in quality

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion

    Tall men and short character

More leisure but less fun - more kinds of food - but less nutrition

Two incomes - but more divorce

nicer houses - but broken homes

That is why I propose , that as of today , you do not keep anything for special occasions , because every day you live is a special occasion.

Search for knowledge, read more. sit and admire the view without paying attention to your needs.

Spend more time with your family and friends , eat your favorite food and visit the places you love .

Life is moments of enjoyment and not just about surviving.

Drink from the finest crystal glass. do not save your best perfume but use it every day.

Remove phrases like “ one of these days “ ,“ someday” and “not now” from your vocabulary

write that letter you thought of writing “ one of these days “

Let’s tell our families and friends how much we love them.

Do not delay anything that adds laughter and joy to your life .

Every day , every hour , and every minute is special.

As you do not know if they will be your last .

So, my friend we can still be happy if we learn how to be content and giving : )

  5. I do remember & trust me I don't miss those days ...not one little bit !

  6. No....I still enjoy many of the things you are missing.

I have the luck to live in a calm city of a small country, where things  still are made as in old times......where you can enjoy going to work in a bike although you have a car...where you know the name of your neighbour, where if someone has a great happiness you go and congratulate him/her...where if someone has a big sorrow you support him/her.......and where if you have kids you still can allow them to go out alone, bcoz you know who are their friends and most  probably you are friend of their parents.

I'm from a generation that grew up reading cartoon magazines instead of watching TV....riding a bike instead of having the own car...making calculations with a pencil instead of using a calculator, drinking a coke instead of injecting cocaine, getting married instead of living with the gf or the bf.

But...........although of that, I love the present days. We have to rescue the best of  the time we are living in..

Old days were so nice, and you can  bring some of the nice things from them to ur present time, but also some of the things nowadays are so beautiful.

One have to learn how to enjoy the best  in each moment of our lives.

I'm still  learning and trying to do that.

  7. lol i wasnt born then although i wish i was cuz at times it feels as if i was born in the wrong time period....i really dont like the way the world is right now

  8. sorry

I wasn't living in these times

I lived in times when 50 L.L could buy you just a chewing gum

I know it's bad times now

and I heard it's going to be harder

so every one should prepare for it
