  1. I did until I found a really good dentist.  If your dentist makes you that uncomfortable, try finding someone new, someone who works better with your personality.

  2. yes.. when it's in the far back of course. I'd rather get it pulled than have a root canal.

  3. yep, my dentist is so great though because when i fail to show up for my appointment, she calls me and hounds me till i come in and then she gives me the gas so i calm down--otherwise i have a full fledged panic attack!  So know that you are not the only one.

  4. No..I don't like the dentist but I don't want to make it worse.

  5. Ya I hate the dentist. The drilling, the pulling, and poking.. all of it. I wont go to the dentist unless its an absolute necessity, or if my husband forces me to lol!! I would rather be knocked out while getting my dental work done. Don't like the sounds in there!!

  6. OK...one who fears the "DDS"...Doctor of Dental Surgery...There are many many people who have fear of going to a DDS and the major reason is tied to a long standing belief that Dentist and Pain are synonymous. The fact is, that was only a reasonable assumption 50 years ago before the vast improvements in dental equipment and materials and procedures became real. There is also an old axiom that has been around a long time that say's Dentistry is Painless...there was an old California dentist who was titled "Painless Parker"...a somewhat misnomer in those day's.....Today however, that title can be a very honest declaration. Dentistry is in fact very very painless. You will feel some slight discomfort with some procedures, yes, but did you know that discomfort can be less than getting a vaccination at the MD's office? The real issue is your statement about waiting and waiting before you go to the dentist...The longer you wait the more likely it is you will feel additional discomfort...Good luck and I wish you will.
