  1. Don't be worrying about this, it's perfectly normal to have chest pains whilst having panic attacks.

When you start panicking the whole of your body becomes tense and this includes your muscles.

The chest pains are due to the constricting of the chest wall muscles and the muscles between your ribs and not due to any actual muscles in your heart and the best cure is to start stretching these muscles gently to relieve the pain.

You could try stretching your arms above and behind your head, out to the sides and bending over gently to relieve the pain.

Deep breathing relaxation techniques will also help.

  2. I doubt it was heart pain if you have no history of heart problems.

The pain would likely come from the chest wall muscles being tense.

This pain can last a lot longer than 15 seconds.

Physical exercise will help you here.

Of course I have to say see a doc if you're unsure (otherwise if you have a heart attack it's my fault).

  3. I've had strange feelings in my heart around panic attacks, can't say they were 'painful' though :S Seems like a fairly normal things to happen though, panic attacks are quite strenuous on the heart...

  4. I think that's common. I have panic attacks occasionally and I sometimes get a mild pain in my chest which can be scary!

If you are concerned and you keep getting pains, i think it's probably best to go and see your GP for advice, just to put your mind at rest...

    take care xx :)
