I don't know what McCain was thinking. Romney was far more qualified and would have been the logical choice.

Do you agree with me? Why or why not?

  1. When he started running those Hillary ads against Obama, he killed any intelligent hope of picking Romney, for fear of Obama using Romney's word against him.

  2. Don't agree. Even thought Romney did well in the primaries, Sarah Palin is the better choice.Nobody told McCain what to do,he made the decision himself. It's about time the Republican Party listens to the people.

  3. No,

I actually think Romney was unfairly slighted by the American people because of his Mormon faith.

Later people realized that he was a good man, but well..

The voters spoke, what can you do?

  4. Of course Romney is far more qualified.  He must be FURIOUS...  I bet he'll be the lead Rep. candidate in 2012.

I can't believe some people are actually trying to suggest that a former governor of a MUCH bigger state (budget, population, etc) AND very successful business executive who SAVED the US Olympics... is less qualified than Palin.  Get real.

  5. Palin is more electable than Romney in this election because:

    a) She is a woman

    b) She is not mormon

Not saying I agree with these "facts", but they are true.  McCain made a wise choice.

(Romney, in my opinion, would make a far better President than Vice President)

  6. I love Mitt, but I'm proud that McCain picked Gov. Palin. She's more than qualified in her own right. She's done some great things for Alaska!

    McCain/Palin 08

  7. many good choices were passed over. I can only assume that McCain thinks that the women in America are so empty headed that him picking a woman for a running mate will be reason enough to get them on board with him. Although many politician scholars say she is the least qualified person to have been in a presidential race in modern times I'd far rather see the ticket read: Palin/McCain. there is he chance that if we all vote Mccain that the geezer's heart will give out when he realizes he has won and we'll have her as leader, but that's too much of a long shot so i guess I'll stick with our current best hope.

  8. damm slaol stole my answer, at least part of it. romney should be president. he can't help what he was born into and his mormonism is shall we say slight. i watched him work in utah and he is phenomenal. the games would have gone on with or without him but he turned it into a major triumph and made the mormon bribery perps. look like innocent victims. he then parlayed that into millions and the governorship. he knows how to get things done and i even think he has a little honest streak in there somewhere (much as you can have and be a politician). we haven't seen the last of him yet.

  9. Both Romney and Pawlenty are upset and feel they were used.

  10. Here is the problem that would have been Romney

How many houses does he own?

He would be looked at as another rich Repub. robot

would you really want to put a man with inherited wealth

with a man who married into wealth

then try and appeal to the middle class

  11. No.  I like Palin and think she's fantastic.  She's refreshing, conservative and strong.

  12. Not only did he slight Romney but he slighted other women who where better qualified.  He barely knows What's Her Name.

  13. There are about 25 Republican Governors, 48 Republican Senators and 200+ Republican Representatives (not to mention the ex-office holders),  I cant think of any who are LESS qualified than Sarah Palin.

To make matters worse, she is frighteningly extremist in her rightwing ideology.  She wants to criminalize abortion and send women to jail for having abortions EVEN in cases of rape, incest, or a danger to the mother's health.  She wants to take evolution out of public schools and replace it with Creationism.  She doesnt believe in Global Warming.  She would even allow Polar Bears go extinct to allow for drilling for oil in Alaska.

McCain is 72 years old now and will be 76 at the end of his first term.  He has battled cancer four times already.  Today he referred to his long time friend, Governor TOM Ridge as "John"....He may already be losing his marbles and to have this rightwing extremist with no foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the Oval Office is truly, truly dangerous.

  14. I liked Mitt, but Palin is a great choice and in my opinion is what we need in Washington.

  15. If I were Mitt Romney, I'd jump from any bridge right now.

What a shameless and cruel McCain!!!!

  16. First, I have to get to know Palin.  After that, I'll let you know.  Romney would have been perceived as just another wealthy white guy.

  17. He didn't pick Romney, because Romney overshadowed him, would have spoken his opinions and McCain needs a puppet to feel in control.

  18. yes

  19. No I don't agree with you, I think Mr Romney puts America before his desires and would agree that McCain made a wise choice.  He won't be calling up Hillary and joining her little pity party at all!

  20. No. A sitting governor is a better choice.
