With gas prices over 4 dollars a gallon, and over 600,000 people losing their jobs across American. Also food prices going through the roof, home foreclosers at an all time high. It seems our "middle class" is disappearing. It seems America has the "Rich" and the "Working Poor". People working and just getting by week to week. Alot of people can't even afford to put into their 401k anymore. Whats going on?

  1. its being replaced by the "upper-middle class"

    not a joke

  2. the classes have never really been clearly worked out. I would say there are only two classes of people. Those with debt and those without. those with major debts would be those we consider "poor." those that can buy anything without having to borrow money are "rich" and everyone else fists somewhere between the two.

  3. Its called the most regressive tax there is.....INFLATION. Yes the middle class is becomming non existent. This is a direct result of the hidden tax called inflation. The rich dont suffer from it because they are able to raise prices to offset the debasing of the currency they hold. Also they are more apt to recieve wage increases. This is the reason why CEO pay is so high and why it has increased at such a large percentage the last few years.

As Alan Greenspan once said before he destroyed the dollar....

"In the absence of the gold standard, there is no way to protect savings from confiscation through inflation. There is no safe store of value. If there were, the government would have to make its holding illegal, as was done in the case of gold . . . The financial policy of the welfare state requires that there be no way for the owners of wealth to protect themselves . . .

Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious process. It stands as a protector of property rights."

This why the middle class is being eliminated. That is the primary goal of the Federal Reserve and all central banks.

  4. Haven't you seen the news?!? Of course it is occuring in our States, because we are becoming so reliable on foriegn sweat shops to make our nike's shoes! (Sarcasm). And we have so much Middle Eastern banks controlling our commerce in our Country, and China is making so much profit from our pockets, that they became generous enough to put in some extra lead iron in the toys. I'm about to make out a thank you card right now.

  5. Bush messed up the economy!

  6. Just drove around to some beaches, and this is what I wittnessed: near the public beaches there was run-down, sort of dumpy buildings. It was bussy, crowded, not really "middle class". A while up the road, that stopped short, and I saw these HUGE beautiful houses, with pools, gardens, professional landscaping, and workers building, or gardening. The one thing I didn't see? Middle class neighborhoods. No averaged sized houses, no suitable (and affordable) neighborhoods, that is unless you wanted to live on a bussy street, in an overcrowded area. It seemed like a whole different place withing 2 minutes of driving.

Sadly, it doesn't look like things will get better in the near future; with recession, rapidly rising prices for everything, especially oil. Inflation is also a major obsticale. Hopefully it won't stay this way forever, but it may be a while before things get back to normal.

  7. Yes, I do.

The rich have been able to manipulate the governments to pave the way so that they can become richer for decades.  And Mr. Bush has been their willing puppet. This country had a noble beginning, and for the most part an impressive history, with a few exceptions.  But it is going the way of most of the other countries of the world.  With rich and poor, and a middle class that may soon be only a memory.  Unless there is fundamental change soon.

  8. Well it all depends on how you define middle class. If you're John McCain its people who earn less 300k and if your John Edwards its people who earn about 80k a year.

It's not nearly Bush's fault though. Certainly he made significant economic mistakes, but most of it is the collective fault of all Americans.

The average American is $7000 dollars in credit card debt, and we don't save at all. Gas and food prices are at a high because of speculation.

Also you mention people don't put into their 401k anymore. People can almost always afford to save money if they cut down their living expenses down to their means.

  9. I'll tell you what I think is going on.

If you've ever really paid attention to history, you can see a little quirk of thought that shows up before every revolution.

In essence, there are three classes.  The upper wealthy class--which wants to keep things the same because they have it the best in the system.

The lower class--which wants more equality because they feel they are where they are because others are s******g them.

And the most dangerous class, the Middle Class.  This group is the most dangerous because they have some power, so they don't want the system changed all that much; but they don't have the most power, so they want it changed some.  In essence, they are the most likely group to revolt because they would see an opportunity to become the new high class.

As long as things are going good, there will be no revolt.  But if things go way downhill, the Middle Class is the most dangerous class to the Upper class.  The middle class will lie to the lower class and promise them equality in exchange for their assistance in rising up; then when they do rise up and overthrow the upper class the middle becomes the new upper class and pushes the lower class back to the bottom.

Then a new middle class emerges from either the new upper class, the lower class, or a combination of the two; and the whole process begins anew.

Well, things have gone way downhill and they are only promising to get worse.  This is when the Middle class becomes the most dangerous; this is when they come closest to revolution.

But Bush is in the hands of the upper class; they pay him to keep things in their favor.  He will lose out on that money if the middle class rises up to replace the upper class that he is feeding off of.  So how can he stop this?

Easy.  He raises prices through the roof and depresses wages with his economic plans.  He says it in such a way that the Middle Class believes they are the beneficiaries of his plan and so they continue to support those plans--despite the fact that it is precisely these plans that are destroying their ability to survive.

Bush raises a small minority of the middle class to the upper class and then pushes the rest down; and the ones who were raised he uses to convince the others that he is helping them.  He will just point to the ones who did get raised and sa, "See, I am helping you move up."  That keeps the rest of us quiet.

As the middle class disappears more and more into the two other classes, but mostly the lower class, the threat of revolution drops down.  There are fewer Middle Class individuals to threaten to fight.  And the lower class believes itself too weak to fight on its own.  They need the Middle Class, if only to convince themselves they have what it takes to win a revolution.

History has shown that power works like a pendulum.  It swings to one upper class, then a revolution sends it the other way to the middle class to make them the new upper class.  Then it swings again when their time comes to lose power and a new middle class rises up to become a new upper class.

Bush is trying, either consciously or subconsciously, to let the pendulum swing one more time to those who raised him up; and then to stop the swinging forever and leave those in power.  He is really trying to stop the natural course of events; because change is the natural course of events.  But change is what will destroy the power base he and his family have built up over the years.

  10. What's going on is the country is coming to an end.

Unchecked greed, ignorant leaders and a war that is bankrupting the entire country.

There will be the rich people...and the poor people. And guess who'll be in control...at least for a little while.

Wait a few years and you'll really see what chaos is.

  11. There will be only the haves and the have not 's in the near future . It is a milking of the wealth out of the average person in this country . So they the elite can eliminate the power base that was the middle class . An then they will have the near slave class to do the work . That is what is left of the population .
