Now that Australia, United States, and France (I believe) are on street view i'm just wondering how other people feel about them capturing our homes images without permission? Also is anyone else concerned that should you have anything valuable criminals could scour street view, see a house and think "Ooh thats a nice car i'll have that" or stake your house out to work out the best way to break in? Whilst i do find it fascinating to be able to type in any address in the above countries and get a full view of the street i just think it's a bit risky.... How do others feel?

  1. nothing is sacred anymore.

  2. Get over it!

  3. Doesn't bother me.  Then again, all of my gold and diamonds are stored inside the shed in my back yard, so they're not visible.

  4. I take a Viagra and lay naked in the back yard look for me on Google street view.

  5. It won't be a problem here in Britain. We already have more CCTV cameras per head of population than anyone else in the world because we are a nation under surveillance. There are cameras in virtually every street and every public building in the land, in shops, petrol stations (which record your car number plates), hospitals, libraries, offices, factories, everywhere. I'm expecting the government to put a CCTV camera in my home one day, probably when I'm out (they'll know I'm out).

So Google putting pictures of our streets and our homes onto the internet will just be one more intrusion into our privacy. We'll hardly notice it.

  6. It doesn't bother me. It's not like you're looking at live video. The pictures were taken a long time ago.

  7. I think that it is wrong ... me and my partner saw our house & car and also our front door  ... what if theives wanted to plan to rob our street they could do that by mapping out exits and entrances etc ... the surronding buildnings and neighbours houses as well as parks that are close by etc .... i dont like it at all ... why ... what the point of doing that .... hmmm i wonder .... but i think we should have at least had a say in that

to the person that said he has valubles in his back shed .... they could use google earth to see that you have a shed at the back .....im pretty sure the would look in our sheds too for tools etc

i mean dont you think that they would check things from an arial veiw too....
