Does anyone else get confused when they have too much music and dont know what to play?

I have tons of music on my computer and ipod. I have nothing but music albums on my Ipod and computer. Sometimes its hard for me to pick and choose something because theres too many music albums. What should I do about this?!?

on ipods you can shuffle all playlists, not all songs

just close ur eyes and click...... ad listn  to tht

if you go onto itunes...click edit...then go into preferences...click on the playback tab, down the bottom, you can set it so that it shuffles albums, rather than songs, when you clickon the shuffle setting. not sure if you can do the same for the ipod...but if you browse through the settings in the ipod you might be able to find something like that.

What about trying out new genres of music you have never listened to before. Have you ever listened to Miles Davis jazz for example? Or innagaddavida by Iron Butterfly? Wild!

Get some recording software, make your own CD's for different moods you have. Think up some themes to follow and pick the tracks accordingly.

Road trips, romance, tokin', beach, s*x, party tracks, dances, disco, hip hop, etc. Make it into a fun project. Since you like music so much maybe start a vinyl collection and with your software copy it to CD and mix tracks etc.

i base my playlists on what im doing. if im just chillin out ill listen to reggae or some classic rock, if im driving i like to listen to hip-hop/rap. if im at my computer i just open itunes put it on shuffle and hit play. if i have to do something boring and i have my ipod i do the same thing, just shuffle all my songs. i dont go looking unless its something i really want to hear.

Well, you said you like listening to the artist's album, so just pick one artist and listen to all their albums that you have in the order that they released them. Pick a artist you want to hear, or just go through artists alphabetically, by genre, by time they released their albums, etc. Or you could take a bowl, and write all the names on a slip of paper and pick one at random instead of letting the computer choose randomly for you.
