Does anyone else get upset that so many people are incredulous about cheating in NASCAR?

Question

All of you guys who are so up in arms about JGR being caught cheating, do you NOT know the roots of NASCAR?

It was put to me when I was but a wee little tyke, "If you ain't cheating, then you ain't trying to win." That has always been the guiding principle of NASCAR. It is a long and storied tradition.

i think it's sad that nascar implicitly put them in a position where they felt like they needed to cheat the dyno. it's these guys jobs to work within the rulebook to make the most power from their engine possible, and when they did, they got it taken away. "winning the dyno test" used to mean you were the best at getting the most from your engines. now "winning the dyno test" means you didn't perform so far ahead of the others that you got penalized for it... if i worked there, i'd be thinking - hey, if you're going to penalize me for cheating when i was just doing my job in the first place (and take away 15 hp), i might as well have the fun of cheating.

EDIT: rules are rules - except when nascar decides to change them because you do your job better than everyone else and because jack roush complains loudly enough. i don't condone the actions taken to cheat the dyno, but i understand them.

NA SCAR condones cheating  If it did not why not open up the rule book to the public and why not make the fines stiff.

yeah but these guys don't even know how to cheat. They're using tactics from way back. They got to get with the program. There are many high tech ways of cheating, and one particular way would enable you to win restrictor plate races

Rules are rules. We all have rules and just because some of us are "special" doesn't mean we get special treatment now. If NASCAR says these are the rules then that is the "BOX" they all have to work within. I know the word "CHEATING" cuts through like a knife but that's because there is no honor in it. It's a normal human reaction. We live and then we learn. Hopefully the guilty parties at Joe Gibbs will learn. It looks really bad on Joe (the Christian team)

I think there is way to much going on in life to be beating a dead horse like this.

If 'The King' came forward an said he admitted he cheated a time or two,would we folks go ape (p**p) over it???

I could really care less.

We all have, at some point in our life, tried to get an upper advantage on something.

Put this none sense behind us, and lets move on.
