Question:

Does anyone else hate Brian Stann?

They are making such a big deal about the guy just because he is in the Marines. Who cares? They are trying so hard to market him as a 'hero', it makes me sick. And I hate when they call him 'all american'. To those of you who are familiar with sports, 'all American' is someone who competed in an 'all American event'. He never did anything like that. IDK, the guy just rubs me the wrong way. Am I alone out here?

  1. I WANNA KICK HIS GROIN!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Lets see he is the wec light heavyweight champion. He served his country in Iraq:

On November 8, 2005, Stann and his command, the 2nd Mobile Assault Platoon, were ambushed by Iraqi insurgents while trying to secure a bridge near Karabilah. Stann and his men held out for six days under heavy attacks while Stann coordinated air and tank support that eventually allowed them to be relieved on November 14, 2005. Out of forty-two men in Stann's platoon, all survived, and Stann was awarded the Silver Star, the nation's third highest award for valor in combat. He left active duty in the Marine Corps as of May 2008.

So I have to say no i don't hate him because I don't know him, but quite honestly i have to say he has probably been through more and contributed more to this country then you, or anyone who has answered this question so far. I think he's earned the right to be called All American.

Edit-I find it funny that you think "guys like him" are hurting this country, when guys like him have died to give you the right to voice your opinion on here. Like him or not I respect him for doing a job that not many people want to do, including some of them, because it is their duty. And yes i understand what an All American is, and as stated below me he was one. Many MMA people rub me the wrong way and yet I can still respect the dedication and work it took for them to get there, but then I guess you have to know what respect is in order to do that.

  3. yea i hope he gets beat down tonight

  4. I couldn't agree with you more. I can't stand that guy. He's so arrogant, and he just acts like he's better than everybody. Can't wait to see him get beat up by a top level fighter.

  5. It sounds like you hate the COMPANY. I have not heard you say won bad thing about him. The COMPANY promotes him that way. He doesn't control how they advertise him. Why so much hate towards someone you don't even know.

Quote "They are making such a big deal" THEY

"They are trying so hard to market him as a 'hero' " THEY

"they call him 'all american'. " THEY

So how does HE rub you off in a wrong way?

  6. I think he is awesome.  However, he totally got his but kicked tonight.

I do not have not problem with the marketing. He is a hero because he was awarded the "Silver Star", one of the most prestigious battle awards that can be given out to a soldier.

Brian was the 2nd Mobile Assault Platoon leader with Weapons Company when everything started happening during his very first operation. From May 8-14, 2005, he led his men into battle, where their mission was to seize a bridge near Karabilah, Iraq. Three different times, he negotiated four kilometers to maintain their position from enemy attacks. However, on the third time through, the enemy had set up an ambush for the Marines.

Although ambushed, Brian called in close-air support and direct fire from tanks while taking on over 30 rocket-propelled grenade attacks, multiple machine guns firing, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) detonating.

By the way, he was an "All American" football player in college.  That is where that comes from.

    Do you know the term?

Also, when you say "who cares?" about him being in the Marines.  I can assume you are an American who takes your freedom for granted.  However, you can thank all service members, past and present, for the freedom you take for granted.
