  1. come on now serving is the job you love to hate you cant beat working 3 or 4 hrs and making 100 to 300 in that time a day...ya it sucks ppl are rude and think your **** but h**l take the money.

  2. I hated it, mostly because most of my friends didn't even recognise me.

  3. I've been a waitress for 20+ years, and overall, I love it. Once in awhile you do get a--holes, but the good outweighs the bad. Or I think it does!!

My problem is that I feel I deserve better tips than most. A lot of people tip you say $2, and no matter what the bill is, you get $2. When I feel I gave people great service, and it's a standard tip, then I get frustrated.

I work with a girl who is always messing up, and people tip her the same as they do me, and I don't mess up. But because she's been there for a few years, they tip her just the same, and I don't think that's right, but who am I to say?

I know we have bad days, but overall, I think the good outweighs the bad.

  4. I loved it. I made a ton of money and met lots of neat people.

  5. Well I just came across this ? cause I just got hired as a hostess soon to turn into a server and I guess just starting out with no experience is exciting.  And yes I have heard how it can be working with people in the restarant business.  I just hope I have better luck.

I just have always wanted to do it and Now I have the chance. I was in retail for 21 years and so I think anyone can come to hate their job after that long like I did.  I had to stand in a small square the whole time as a cashier and hated it.  I like to move around and being a server you can so I feel this may be a good job for me.  Its not for everyone though.

  6. Dear Isabel,

Yes, I worked 14 years as a waiter in a "customer is always right" hotel chain. Anytime anything went wrong of course, the waiters got blamed even if all they were doing was adhering to the "management"s" directives and the managers then would blame the waters etc.  . . . but the money was fast and stable.

I worked two jobs and at one point three and finally got into my field.

I'd say don't quit but struggle as needed to find something you

like. Then gradually do what you can to shift away from waiting

tables as you make your career more stable. Try hard

    not to burn bridges though.

    Good luck.

  7. I did it years ago. I hated it and I was really bad at it. I took it as a sign that there was something better out there for me. I am sure for you too.

  8. It sucks I agree. People are a******s. The only reason I did it for so long was because where else can you make money like that working only four hours at a time? The only thing that got me through my days sometimes was knowing that I have free will and could walk out of there whenever I wanted and go work somewhere else. Waiting tables sucks, I hate not being able to tell **** heads what I think of them, or being mistaken for a prostitute. I still would reccommend it though, the money can be good and the nights go by fast when you're busy. good luck,

  9. i hate to be a server when people are too rude,d**n attitude problem and donot understand ...sometime i feel like ...i wish i had a power to kick them out ....but not all are bad some of them are really good...

  10. Oh yes people are morons and just plain retarder.  Ever seen the movie Waiting?? Yeah thats how my friends and I acted towards rude butt customers.  We thought of some cool ideas.  Be nice to use and respectful and we'll serve you glady but act rude and inconsiderate then its on.
