They always interrupt with these "HUGE" breaking bulletins about local nonsense. Like "Quaddafi is mauling your children!!" or "The Lunch lady is poisoning your kids!!!!" Why can't they just let me watch my F****n show?!?!

  1. OMG yes, hahah....I hate those blown-dry models with the permanent grins and the silly comments they make about different stories. That's all they are really. The news used to be a public service required by television stations in order to get an FCC license. And, in the early days of local news, it was 15 minutes long. You had one guy at a podium. It wasn't flashy with all kinds of unnecessary graphics and theme music and silly celebrity gossip stories or the annoying bulletins you alluded to where they say "Could something in your kitchen be killing your family? Tune in at 11 And find out." UGH! I hate equally so much of the fluff that's on the news and the irrelevant stories, as well how it's produced. We have a local anchor person here in Detroit named Carolyn Clifford, who is TERRIBLE, and after two weird stories in a row, she exclaimed "Oh my!" It's like, excuse me, just read the d**n copy, ok? I hate when they "act" the news or try to show you how empathic they can be. It's really turning into a freakshow, with the unnecessary weather segment and the histrionic sports guy and the "happy talk" between the anchors after each story. GAWD!! You are 100 percent right, I HATE HATE HATE IT!
