  1. I don't have respect for deserters. The reason I don't have respect for them is because you signed a contract knowing fully what you were getting yourself into, and you had the opportunity to back out before you signed that peace of paper. War is not something to toy around with, and they knew that before they signed.

  2. I had a lot of respect for the iraqi army deserters during the last two gulf wars.

  3. I have no respect for deserters( also known as Cowards).

They volunteered, then ran when things got a little dangerous.Don't people realize that the weapons and combat training isn't for looking pretty?

  4. He was okay with taking Uncle Sam's dime when he was in the rear with the gear, but once he gets deployment orders he RAN!  He is not worthy of our contempt

  5. I have a lack of respect for mouthy Americans.

  6. Simple answer - yes.

  7. Should bring back flogging for these scum.

  8. I do. Never mind the government or what you think, you don't run out on your mates..

  9. I can not judge them as I did not serve. But they knew what deserting would bring.

  10. Absolutely, the people signed up to serve their country. They should know that they might be called upon to fight and should serve if called. It's not like they were rounded up (like in Soviet Russia) and forced to serve. They get no respect from me.

  11. I agree 100 percent with you.  You know when you sign up for the Army you have a chance to go to war no matter where you live....

  12. no....

i dont really mind who desserts from a war which shouldnt really be happening in the first place.

a lot of people desert on their seconed tour of duty...

it dosnt make them cowards its shows us how awfull it is that they dont want to stay even when thay did voulnteer and knew that theyd go to war!!!

  13. I Know that what dadseima said and you people should try it!! Before you judge!!!

  14. I have no respect for Amy deserters.

Going AWOL is one thing, but deserting in the face of the enemy is something entirely different and should at least lead to a very long prison sentence if captured and subsequently found guilty.

There is no excuse ever for desertion.

I know that in some British regiments, deserters are simply shot dead by one of their own sergeants so that they do not become an embarrassment to the regiment/battalion.

  15. I'm from New Zealand and I think that if he's a volunteer, then judge him, because no one forced him.

  16. yeah they are nothing but cowards!!!

  17. It's all a bit Jingoistic.

None of my comrades ran and I have the utmost respect for them.

HOWEVER before you can judge anyone from running from a battle I would respectfully suggest that you fight in one first so you know what you are condemning him from running from.

    BATTLEFIELDS AIN'T PRETTY PLACES

I'm not condoning the act but bear in mind that Cowardice or shell shock has only just been recognised as an illness and not a crime

  18. no i don't disrespect any military we are always going to have some kind of trouble and some kind of war. army does it job and military is not volunteer i think you better read up about these things

  19. The first ones that should be asked is his Platoon members and I am sure you wouldn't receive a positive response. He made a commitment and oath and when this coward couldn't handle it he ran. I applaud Canada for sending this traitor back to face the punishment.

I, (name), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. (So help me God.)

  20. Having never been to war, I really can't say.

  21. Hanging is too good for the scum!

  22. yes u t**t

  23. He's one of those "I'm on the college plan, I didn't sign up to fight." So when he is deported by Canada and is sent to jail, he'll get his education from Babba. He is a coward. They [government] should bring back the stocks and put him out in the middle of town square and face public humiliation.

  24. I have no respect for TANG officers that went AWOL during the Vietnam war, and were never prosecuted.

  25. Not at all, they made more of an effort to serve their country than I ever did.

  26. someone signs up to defend their country but when their made to defends multinationals interests i don't really blame them

  27. *sigh* sometimes people forget one of the core values...duty first..always

EDIT: For those who have never served, who are you too say this person is in the right? Maybe you will NEVER know the type  of life we live, but we give up our personal beliefs to protect the rest of the country that won't. And sometimes that means going to war even if we don't want to. I don't agree with it..but guess what..I have a duty to do..and damnnit, i'm going to do it to the best of my ability. So...go ahead, praise this guy, make exuses about how kids come from poor backgrounds, and who maybe stupid...go ahead..but there is still NO excuse for desertion...
