  1. they are lovely, very good natured-female ones especially. although you need to take care of their hair as it will tend to get matted if the cage isnt cleaned out regularly, and the guineapig not brushed ect.

  2. my first cavvies were long haired peruvian and they were great..fantastic little creatures. they were my favourite.

i used to let them out loose in the garden at the end of the day for a run, and when i whistled they would run back to their hutch and wait to go in. they squeaked as soon as the garage door opened and ran to the wire bit. They were gorgeous although the fur took a lot of looking after and daily combing to stop it getting matted, and i used to trim around their skirts once a month to make sure that it didn't start to smell with wee and poo.

I would recommend them as long as you have the time to dedicate to their grooming. Any pig needs time if you want it to be tame and friendly and get to know it, but it is vital with the grooming of a long haired otherwise it will turn into a smelly mop, with mange and all sorts, and that isn't fair on the pig!

but personality wise they are lovely!
