Does anyone else have a strange attraction to pain?

I would never want to inflict pain on any person or animal. But for some reason whenever I see people in pain it makes me happy I get giggly and can't help but smile.

The first time I remember this I was about 7 and my best friend was over she got on my dog like he was a small horse and was bouncing on his back I told her to stop and get off him but she wouldn't she kept bouncing on him till he flipped her over and bit her arm.

She was bleeding pretty bad and I ran to tell my mom. When my mom and hers were cleaning her up she kept screaming and I was hidding in my room laughing.

I guess i felt like she got what she deserved because she was abuseing my dog.

Now when I watch horror movies the more violent and graphic the more I enjoy it.

Saw and Hills have eyes makes me laugh.

Is anyone else like this.

And No I have never been abused so I don't know why I'm like this.

  1. You will not fit into society. You are sick. I agree that the example you gave is justified.

  2. in films its ok to laugh but in real life its just wrong

  3. I bet it is definitly a psychological reaction... perhaps something like... they are getting what they deserve and it makes you happy? I'm actually the total opposite... I am very sensitive and hate to see anyone hurting... however I used to self injure and have an interest or fixation on my own pain. I got therapy for that because despite my hedonistic enjoyment I knew it was unhealthy. But I still occassionaly enjoy stubbing my toe, lol. And I love getting tattoos. Everyone is morphed by their nature and nurture somehow and in response we react to situations due to nature and nurtue in different ways.

  4. i can't say that seeing someone in pain makes me laugh but you can't beat seeing someone falling over in the street, that gets me every time.

  5. PAIN

is just a mear intense form of pleasure

  6. I'll guess we'll be seeing you on America's Most Wanted in the near future?

You should be posting this in the psychology section.

In here, you'll get the religious people all up in arms that you are secretly "possessed" by a demon.

  7. I think it's a psychological reaction, I have it as well. It's like when I watched Suicide Club and Battle Royal, when ever there was a killing scene, or a suicide, or something very "fukt up", so to speak, I would burst out laughing.

I don't think  it's like when someone laughs at a funeral, a direct form of reaction or intense feeling of anxiety

I think it's more like a response, not necessarily that of pleasure, but of reassure. It's like saying, "ha ha ha, wow, the mutants raped that woman and they ate her, man, that's messed up, ha ha ha." I think it's basically a sigh of relief, not necessarily that caused by stress, but of understanding and reflection.

  8. Hello,

You may get more answers if you put this in the mental health forum.

Sounds like a form of dissociation disorder.....this is backwards thinking.

  9. I think its more of a fixation of seeing someone get what they deserve. Kinda like in those movies when you see someone about to die. Most likely your thinking to yourself what the h**l are they doing that for, their going to get themselves killed. No I don't like to watch other people suffer. But I do get a little satisfaction from "I told you so."

  10. I do like watching people get hurt when they are doing something stupid or mean.  For instance there is a video where a guy opens the car door to hit a biker and then falls out and hits a car.  Stuff like that makes me feel good inside.

I don't really like horror movies and such.  I think you like being different from those around you.  Like the reaction you get when you say something like "that was so cool" while the other girls are saying "gross" and diverting their eyes.

  11. I couldn't guess why you are like this either. I like horror movies, they are about the only thing that can hold my attention. I have a very high tolerance for pain. I do not however enjoy seeing other people in pain.

  12. That's called 'sadomasochism'.  It's not extremely uncommon, but may be a symptom of an underlying disorder.  You can look it up on wikipedia.

  13. Either you yourself are a darksider, or you have one attached to you. That's all it could be in my opinion because anyone that enjoys seeing suffering is of dark nature, or has one attached to them. Most all psychological disorders and addictions are entity involvement contrary to the entire clueless psychiatric industry with their toxic drugs.

Research entity attachment.  Get some some strong orgonite around you and especially when you sleep, give it about a week, and it will "Detach" and move on to someone that hasn't figured it out yet.

You posted this here because your higher self knows the problem, and wants you to figure it out. It isn't a coincidence otherwise you'd of posted it on a psychiatric forum.  You know, your higher self knows, your dark friend doesn't want you to know.

  14. I think it might be "association". ..associating things like this that subconsciously remind you of that time about your dog...more like a little hysterical laugh. You also get this laugh sometimes during trauma. People think you're "laughing " laughing..but it's not at all the same.Maybe even the sight or thought of blood can trigger this memory. You probably need to get some help with this so it doesn't turn into something worse. Memories can do weird things to you.At least you're able to remember this memory without being hypnotized.  A lot of people "enjoy" horror movies. I don't know why. I don't know why they enjoy scary movies either. The mind...and our reactions to things can be strange at times. It's good that you realize this isn't the right way to feel. Try to google and find out all you can about this so you can understand it better.and maybe change it. If these horrible things happened to  you or your family..would you laugh then? Maybe not.(Or maybe you would laugh..out of hysteria.)

Edit..I think laughing and crying are very close to each other..Did you ever "cry" at something funny? Tears can come from both ..laughing and crying.

Did you ever watch a "Three Stooges" movie? People laugh all the time when they hit each other. Go figure!! lol

Edit..That's why I hate it so much  when ..at funerals..people say "She held up so well...she's a pillar of strength" etc...Holding up well at funerals is not an appropriate reaction for grief...I think. Especially the "smiling" part. (or that people have get togethers afterwards that are almost like "parties").

Edit..OH...I see you're into "Wrestling".Well that explains a LOT!! lol You're "conditioned" now to being glad when people get hurt..esp. the wrestler that you're opposing. You just need to sort it out...which times it's "appropriate" to react this way ..and which times it's NOT.

  15. Truly, I hope you are day dreaming and trying to be 'creative'.

  16. i'm like this too. i get pleasure out of other people's pain.
