Does anyone else have problems with Acuvue contacts?

Ok, I just got my first pair of contacts. They are Acuvue. I wore them for three weeks and they did fine. One day I decided to give my eyes a breather and wear my glasses. The next day, I wore my contacts and they were fine. I put them in the next day and they were fine. When I took them out, I noticed that my eyes started to get red. The next morining, they were super red and people asked me ifI was high or something (I wasn't). I decided to get a new pair and a new case. It happened again. Then I got an entirely new solution. It happened again. Is this a problem with Acuvue or my eyes? Is anyone else having this problem and what did you do?

  1. So far there isn't much problem. But do note that different people have different eyes shape thus whether the lenses is suitable is deteremiend only by the eye doc.

  2. Do you have disposable ones? I don't know which contacts I have, but the ones I have I use for 2 weeks then change. If you go longer then they start to go "bad", and your eyes will get red (I think they become more vulnerable to bacteria). Happened to me the first time I used my contacts; I used them for a month before I changed them! (BTW, that's how you get pink eye.) You shoud just wear glasses for about a week, or at least until your eyes aren't red anymore. Then use a new pair of contacts, and they should be fine. After that if your eyes aren't better you should either see a doctor (which they'll probably tell you you have pink eye and give you drops), or call the company because you might have a contaminated pack.

  3. Have you had a follow-up exam with your doctor?  Not every lens works for every person.  Additionally, these are generally prescribed as two-week replacement lenses on a daily- wear basis.  If you sleep in them, the replacement schedule is shorter.  Also, which version of Acuvue are they?  There are several on the market now.  Your best option is to report this to your eye doctor.  Don't wear the lenses if your eyes are red.
