Question:

Does anyone else have social anxiety?

cos i want t talk to people with it, just to talk to them, and maybe help them, even them help me, but just get in touch with me if you have social anxiety

  1. Like you mean not liking to go out and socialise?. If so, yes i do...i've always preferred my own company.


  2. We all suffer from a little anxiety in social situations and there are many ways of dealing with it.  Sometimes though you just have to be brave.

  6. I definitely do. I'm alone at college in a new city and was trying to keep from fainting when the professor called us each one by one to name our interests. I was checking my pulse with my fingers and trying to make myself take deep breaths. When he called my name, a rush went through me and I got goosebumps everywhere, including my scalp. I choked out some words and did a pretty good job of not looking like a complete idiot, but it was a close call.

  9. Yes. I have generalized anxiety disorder and some social anxiety as well.. Even if I'm not around people just being outside of my house makes me anxious. Try to relax and know you are not alone.. Maybe you should see a doctor and see if you can get on some sort of long term medication to help you overcome your social fears. Good luck!

  11. I'm not jumping the gun hear but if you're basic the fact you might have social anxiety on an isolated incident of panic (like many people do) then this isn't the case. I had a panic attack before years ago for no reason at home - I convinced myself for about two months I had serious mental health issues and became withdrawn. As soon as i spoke out about it I realised how normal it is - most people have them at some point.  

  12. Work on your breath control.  If you can control your breath then you can handle the situation much better.  Look into different exercises and meditation techniques that help you relax, but breath control is the key.  

  13. Its hard for me to go to any public place. I always feel people are looking at me or talking about me so I choose to stay home most of the time.  When im around people I don't know I have these feeling  like should I say something or what should I look at or what should I do with my hands. It sucks. I have a few freinds I hang with but we all drink so it makes it easier,  but the next day I always feel like I said or did something stupid and the anxiety is worse.  I have seen a psychiatrist and they gave me zoloft but I didn't like the way it made me feel so I quit taking it and quit going to the psychiatrist.  I wish I knew how to make these feelings just go away.

  14. i was just reading about something like this because i have the same problem.  i am very scared to be around a crowed of people scared of what they might say or think about me there for this has kept me from getting a job and im only 24 year old.  but i was reading that this is called a personality disorder.  in a public place if i go out to eat or something and i have to get up to ask the server for something i wont do it because im scared to be around people  just scared of what they might say or think and i also get really nervous
