  1. You need to have a face to face.So prepare yourself and talk without anger, but be direct and confident. If it persists try playing loud music when they are asleep.

l had the same problem and sent polite notes, then banged on the wall, then rang their bell and still no progress. In the end loud music from me,made them turn it down.

In England people do not seem to respond when you are polite and courteous only aggressive tactics work.Low mindedness rules and highmindedness is out of fashion

  2. you can just call the landlord or the police..

  3. hiya i know how you feel, I'm in a wheelchair and don't get out much. i have the kids above me running the whole of the flat above, the noise is killing me we get it day and night.these kids don't seem to sleep.then the parents start arguing, the kids screaming, door slamming.weekends the stereo going full blast, its really bad. Ive been in touch with the police, council, all i get is keep a note pad of all the noise and time its happening .i filled it up in 3 days, and they did nothing. they said they can't do any think because they are a Gypsy family and they have to live somewhere.they told me to move. i have live here 15yrs with no trouble they have been here 1 yr so i know what you are going through, and i really do feel for you.try the council, it might work for you.i wish you all the best.x*x

  4. I have new poeple upstairs that started to move there stuff in 9 some at night.  If they kept being loud that will call the sheriff's  office.

  5. Ours do this as well, spoke to them they say that is isnt them. It starts after 12midnight. I just go to bed before midnight and then Im asleep and dont hear it.

  6. Yeah my neighbour above has laminate flooring with no underlay and throughout the evening you can would chairs being pulled, and what sounds like the entire cupboard being dropped on the floor. Not to mention they insist on wearing shoes around the house so all you hear is them walking around. They have a daughter who is constantly banging as well. I had a word with her and she also just continued denying it was her and I just basically had my housing association send noise complaint letters 3 - 4 times a week. I'm guessing the housing association got sick of me constantly ringing, they approached her and must have said something about the floors being pulled up permanently or under lay being laid because now i hear nothing.

Edit - Blackpool lass make yourself an inconvenience to the housing association. Trust me it works, they will get sick and tired of the constant phone calls. I have had just one problem after the next with my neighbours. Constant music was the last problem i had, i would go to the housing office everyday telling them well i have nothing better to and it's a h**l of a lot quieter around here then my own house. It works you just have to be a real pain in the ****. Be on constantly. Try your local CAB as the housing office have an obligation to help you resolve the matter.

Edit - Loud music does seem to do the trick but they may retaliate so it's a 50/50 chance.

  7. Sounds like they may be night owls.  Talk to the landlord or even call the police.  It could be that the insulation between your ceiling and their floor is just really bad.  This is one of those reasons why I try to get the top floor.  Got lucky this time.  Not on the top floor, but I live in a concrete structure.  No noise.
