While bank managers are much more friendly and approachable nowadays, the old bank managers, said yes or no to whatever you were requesting and you knew where you were.

I went in to my bank yesterday to ask for a raise in my overdraft and the manager tried to sell me a funeral plan, and insurance. I know bank managers have a job to do but it does become rather tiresome when im given the "hard sell" every time I go into my bank.

And I dont want to hear "it is to save us money" it is selling!!!!!!!

  1. I miss the time when the bank manger was a bank manager, not a sales manager.

  2. You even get that at the counter all I wanted to do was pay my credit card off

Customer service Stuff that just get on with the job in hand

  3. Banking now is very competitive in terms of banking business and customer services. Nowaday customer services are more like customer self services using the technologies and machines provided by the bank. Now bank managers duties are selling their bank services to customers or doing sales or attending to customers banking problems.

  4. at least you have a person to speak to, the new HSBC bank of mine has nothing but machines all round the building to cancel direct debits, pay in money, take out money, pay in cheques, pay bills, etc, what has become of the personal touch?
