  1. i agree. but i highly doubt it's going to be held in chicago. the 3 other citites are the front runners. although i think spain or russia has a better chance than brazil does.

  2. I agree. I would love it to be in rio de janeiro.  It would be awesome.

  3. its hasn't been held here that often.. But I agree anywhere but Chi-town!

  4. I totally agree the olympics should be held in other countries.

  5. come to houston texas x]

  6. I AGREE.. THEY SHOULD LET OTHER COUNTRIES TO HAVE A CHANCE TO GET TO KNOW THEIR CITIES

  7. I would LOVE to have the 2016 Olympics in Chicago. I love to watch the games live and if it's in Chicago the time difference isn't that bad. It's not like Beijing where when it's morning here it's night there and vise versa. It's closer if it's in Chicago! ANd it's something different.

  8. I agree!

Many people I know are afraid of what it will do to us here in Chicago.

A bunch of work followed by a big layoff. Some new venues created that will be good for what later?

Big price increases and more taxes? Forget it!!!!!!!

    ABC! Anywhere But Chicago!!!!

Besides, who want's the chaos and the exposeure to terror and all that too.

I say no Olympics in Chicago Please!

  9. Ok well I really am on the border of this topic. I live in Chicago, pretty close to the city. Here are my pros and cons of having the olympics here:

Pros: Wherever the 2016 olympics are, they will be michael phelps last olympics! I wanna see him before he retires.

All the athletes will be here, possibly get to meet them!

Tourists would buy things from local shops here, helping local business owners.

Cons: Usually, cities that hold the olympics just end up in debt and the city is out of money.

It would be bringing lots of tourists, American and alien to the towns, possibly even towns next to the city with hotels, such as where i live. I don't personally want all these extra people like crowding around my house.

    Threats from other countries.

Hotels just raising their prices since they will be packed.

Most likely everything will go up in cost to make more money off the tourists.

The city will be knocking down perfectly good buildings, plus they originally planned on taking out famous parks.

Basically, i think that the olympics would do more harm than good to chicago. But to be an optimist, i REALLLLLY wanna see michael phelps before he retires, and having him in my home town would make it soo awesome.

  10. I can just imagine NBC royally s******g up the coverage should it be in Chicago.  Please spare me.

I love you too: The 2012 Olympics are in London.

  11. Yeah I like it better when the games are in other countries. I didn't know it was going to be in Chi town for 2016, ain't it in NYC in 2012?

Thanks Yoda someone just emailed me that too. Why all the thumbs down? I do like it when the game aren't in the US.
