Friday night in QLD we have no live coverage but are give second rate repeats by channel 7 and garbage by channel 10. Surely with the AFL trying to make inroads into the northern states there should be at least one game covered. In the split round I think there were only 3 games cover over the two weekends. come on AFL help us supporters interstate

  1. In victoria we get rugby at around midnight. With aussie rules free to air gets 1 friday (7), 2 saturday (10) 1 sunday (7). so u really need to get foxtel to get all the games. I barrack for the kangas and because we're a small club we're always televised on foxtel.

  2. unlike Bruce, im too broke to get Foxtel LOL

I live for my free to air TV ..

all channels sux and it gets frustrating .. but im a poor @rse who still sits there yelling at the tv ... like its the tv's fault hhehe

Hey, at least the Swans won a game .. after losing like what .. the last 3???

OMG those Swans better friggen win!!!@!@!

  3. I'm with you there! What's worse is, when you buy Austar, sometimes they don't even show the games they should! It's terrible.

  4. get foxtel mate,

4 game a week live and if you live in QLD ACT or NSW like i do on ch 518 you get fri-sat night live thats 6 games a week live,

you can get fox sports and about 15 other ch for $37 a month

ASH J you are wrong yes ch 7 has the rights to fri night  if you had foxtel its on ch 518 live at 7 30pm maybe you dont have digital

    DEE DEE its Parrrris OK

  5. you shouldnt have to resort to getting foxtel. yeah there coverage sucks. and il tell you what else sucks, the commentaters. washed up old footy stars have no idea about being in the media. get rid of them. they forget their commentating to supporters of both teams.

  6. hate to tell u but it is foxtels fault - foxtel are entitled to howevermany live games per week or something..... in SA we get the fri night game - one sat game or two if port or crows are playing and on sunday we are lucky if we get 1 game with 7 coverage and then maybe one commentated by foxtel

  7. Yeah I know!

I've got foxtel and that gives mos of the games live, but still. Channel 7 has the rights to Friday night games and they don't show them untill 8.30 in WA. Fox sports is no better they show Friday night games at 9pm.  I'm so glad I've got foxtel. Channel 10 and 7 have delayed telecasts constantly and the colour sucks in comparision to fox sports.

I hate watching delayed games. I now get score updates from the afl website...although it ruins the game.

  8. Wish I could help you here from America, but this is the second year in a row of nothing at all, footy in the USA. Footy here is on an obscure satellite channel, Setanta Ireland, only available on one system, and yes, $60US a month on top of the normal fee. It is not available on cable television here in America as before with Fox Sports World, Prime Sports Network and in the early 1980's, ESPN. If it weren't for the internet, no footy to read about and most internet connections here do not allow for video stream from afl.com.au. At least you have something in Oz, here in America, we have nothing to watch, footy, anyhow. ESPN now shows poker, hot dog eating contests instead of footy. Can you believe it?

  9. Yes it sucks.  And I don't think that foxtel (or at least the stuff 7 re-broadcasts late at night) has decent commentary.  I like a bit of feeling from the commentators.  And although it's not great on 10 I think the camera work is better.

And why does 7 think anyone really cares about union.  Everytime there is an international in a series that Australia is in (say a match between NZ and S Af) is on they broadcast that.  Show Australian sport ya bunch of .

  10. i live in Victoria and even i think the coverage sucks this year, all the good games seem to be on foxtel and there's no chance in h**l I'll pay money to watch it,just so the AFL can fatten their pockets.

  11. I live in VIC, i too am frustrated by the coverage. However, my gripe is more to do with the coverage of play, for the last few seasons we have had 9 doing a decent job, this season i have lost count how many times in a match they have shown a brick wall, the sky or the back of someones head, or a replay ................. and as you'd expect something pivotal always happens.

There are a few options though, Foxtel, which then allows you to pick and choose which games you watch ... but yes foxtel isn't free, however i do enjoy the options to choose, and also the pre and post game shows are pretty good too, but there is also game coverage online, .... not sure if it's video or audio though. it's on afl.com.au  so i've been told.
