Mine comes randomly also, but thats due to stress.  If you get on a form of birth control it normally regulates it

It can be irregular depending on your hormones. If it becomes really irregular than you might want to see a doctor just to make sure everything is in check.

Well I got my period and then missed it for about five months.

You're period is probably still irregular.

You need to inform your doctor. Something maybe wrong with one of your ovaries....it sounds like you are only using one.

A lot of girls I know are irregular ranging from periods:  every three months to once a year.
