Does anyone else randomly get really sharp pain in the chest when breathing in?

It doesn't happen a lot but it does hurt really bad when it does. I'm a 19 year old girl and I shouldn't be having chest pains. What does this mean?

  1. I get the same feeling sometimes too, usually only lasts a few breaths though and goes quite quickly. I have never really taken much notice for it as it doesn't happen much for me. It helps me just to keep breathing normally so it goes away quickly.

  2. ive had that same issue, and im 21.  my doctor said not to worry.  but it wouldnt hurt to call the doctor so he could have a listen to ur heart.

but im sure your fine, your young :-)

just eat healthy, and make sure u take a multivitamin!

  3. omg i get those too!!like when i inhale deeply it feels like a stab of pain in the chest

  4. Some of these are related to your muscles. If you work long hours in one position, you are likely to have tight muscles that prevent ribs from having right movements. This can cause pain if continued over a long time.

Make sure you have a good posture when you sit. Your lower back should rest against your chair and your upper back and neck should be relaxed and resting. Take frequent breaks even if it is for 20 or 30 seconds. Drink lots of water throughout the day.

Try doing stretching excercises in the morning, especially for the chest to expand the chest. Consult an expert if it continues.
