WW2 began with UK, France, Australia and New Zealand.declared war on Germany following the invasion of Poland.

I remember how serious my parent's were, got shushed every time the news came on, the atmosphere was serious and palpable.

We were due to go to Norfolk on holiday the following day, but that was cancelled.

I don't remember when I realised the grim reality of it all, bur realise it I did.

Do you remember Rob Wilton "The day war broke out..." and Worker's Playtime, Geraldo and Band Wagon?

Anyway, you are like gold. You can remember some of the most important part of our history, no just the dates and places and speeches, but the every day feelings, reaction, fears, through the eyes of a child and the adults around you. when you say anymore questions is like well where do you want me to start?

How did you live when evacuated and did you manage to go back to your home? You should take part in schools discussion and help children get an insight of the war that no book can offer.
