Does anyone else share this pelvic pain?

I'm 39 weeks pregnant and it's only started hurting for 1 week. Every time I move a certain way it hurts like h e l l and it's excruciating to move. I dread laying down because it takes me at least 3 minutes to get up to go to the restroom! It's ONLY on my left hip side and it pops every time I turn in bed (painfully!). Any ladies relieve this pain?

  1. Your pelvis is spreading out because of the weight of the baby and in preparation for labor.  The muscles and ligaments are getting stretched to their max and unfortunately it's not going to get better until you give birth.  Try to rest as much as possible.  Put pillows under you when you're on the couch so you're not so low to the ground.  Get people to help pull you up.  It'll be over soon.

  2. Stretchy ligaments!

I had a similar issue with both my second and third pregnancies... I swear my pelvis had cracked in two and the parts were griding against each other!! Not fun, as you have discovered.

I found that keeping a pillow or two between my knees did relieve the pressure somewhat (keeps the hips in a more neutral position, rather than having to hit an extreme angle to reach the mattress with your knee). For an extra treat, put a pillow under your tummy, too. Crazy how that tiny lessening of weight can feel so great!

Also, try propping yourself up with about 47 pillows so you're on your back but only semi-reclined; then you can just kind of roll/fall off the side of the bed. Sounds like I'm joking, but sadly I know this to be effective!! :D

If all else fails, just remind yourself how handy those stretched-out ligaments and flappy joints will be come birthing time!

Congrats - enjoy your sweet baby!

  3. OH YEAH, i feel your pain! I discussed it with doctor and he said it was perfectly normal. But i was going through this pain that you describe it was way earlier in my pregnancy. I know it's painful, but look on the bright side you've only got one more week to go

  4. im 36 weeks and ive started getting pain in my "area" like i got kicked and now im bruised and it hurts like heck to roll in bed and hurts REAAAALY bad to try and get out of bed. thankfully i put the crib next to my side of the bed and use it to pull myself out of bed which helps a little. also my right leg/hip joint pops all the time. atleast 3 times  a day, and ive NEVER had any popping down there.

there really isnt any way to relieve the pain except tohave your baby. your baby is going lower in the birth canal and his/her head is pressing up against your pelvis and it hurts. but your almost there! goodluck

  5. Sounds like you are about to burst!!! The baby is probably too big for you to carry...thats why everything hurts...cuz he is all up in your organs!!! Dunno if thats the case but good luck hun!
